Add a little sweetness to your Saturday
Superbowl Treats for the Big Game
Last Thursday, Sweet Equations was featured on Better
Connecticut’s Creative Game Day Treats Segment. As the Big Game approaches,
think about creative and delicious treats you can celebrate with. Each dessert Sweet
Equations presented on Better Connecticut is delicious, unique and easy to
assemble. These are the perfect desserts for the Big Game. The carefully
designed chocolate footballs that are festive and showcase team spirit for the
Big Game were created from melted chocolates that were shaped into the icon of
the sport, the football. Royal icing from a piping bag creates the finishing
touch for the chocolate football. These chocolate footballs decorate Sweet
Equations’ Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies as well as the Stadium Cakes and
Touchdown Popcorn Trail Mix.
Sweet Equations’ signature cakes, the un-cupcakes, which are
three inch cakes, each one reflecting one of the bakery’s signature candy cake
creations, were used to inspire the Stadium Cakes. These Stadium Cakes provide
a chocolate base with green frosting and a chocolate covered strawberry in the
shape of a football to create the design of a football field. Green coconut is
spread across the tray with multiple Stadium Cakes for the finished product.
Sade, owner and dessert baker extraordinaire, instructed
Scot Haney and Kara Sundlun on the steps to make the Touchdown Popcorn Trail
Mix. All you need is popcorn, dried cranberries, cashew nuts, chocolate covered
candies and candy wafers. First, mix the dried cranberries and cashew nuts into
the popcorn bowl and then add chocolate covered candies that best reflect your
team’s colors. Sweet Equations is all about being festive and showing team
spirit, therefore the candy wafers that are melted in a microwave and used for
a dessert drizzle will also match your team’s colors. Add more of the delicious
chocolate footballs and you have created your own unique dessert to enjoy!
While watching the game this year from the comfort of your
