Sweet Equations was on Better Connecticut yesterday showcasing some spring dessert inspiration! The Flower Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops are a sweet treat! These Oreo cookies are placed on a lollipop stick and covered in delicious, creamy chocolate and decorated with your favorite candies! Make this treat a special spring or Mother’s Day gift by adding a bouquet of Flower Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops, which then can be placed in a vase, creating the most beautiful and edible gift for the spring season! Sade, owner and dessert extraordinaire, taught Scot Haney and Kara Sundlun how to make this delicious dessert on Better Connecticut! First, you need an Oreo cookie, a lollipop stick and melted chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted, place the lollipop stick in the chocolate and insert into the Oreo cookie. Then, you will need to wait for the Oreo Pop to harden, which will take about fifteen minutes. If you place the Oreo Pops in the freezer the process will be shortened. Now you...

Tasty Tuesdays

The holiday for candy, flowers and sweet treats is tomorrow. Make sure to celebrate with tasty treats! Sweet Equations’ creative treats are Valentine’s Day themed and perfect for the holiday or any occasion to celebrate the ones you love. Just last year on Better Connecticut Sade showcased her Valentine’s Day candy cake and a heart shaped gingerbread cookie box, an edible gift that everyone will enjoy. The heart shaped gingerbread cookie box is fun and easy to make. Once you make your gingerbread dough, make sure to cut out heart shapes that are small, medium and large in size. Then put them in the oven for eight to ten minutes. Next, assemble the box of hearts by using royal icing. You need a larger heart for the base and then stack medium size hearts using the royal icing as the box’s glue, making this gift completely edible. Place some candies inside and then a larger heart on top. Make sure to use your creativity to decorate this heart shaped gingerbr...

These are the perfect desserts for the Big Game. The carefully designed chocolate footballs that are festive and showcase team spirit for the Big Game were created from melted chocolates that were shaped into the icon of the sport, the football. Royal icing from a piping bag creates the finishing touch for the chocolate football. These chocolate footballs decorate Sweet Equations’ Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies as well as the Stadium Cakes and Touchdown Popcorn Trail Mix. Sweet Equations’ signature cakes, the un-cupcakes, which are three inch cakes, each one reflecting one of the bakery’s signature candy cake creations, were used to inspire the...
